Cheesy Chicken and Spinach Stuffed Shells

12-15 jumbo pasta shells

2 cups cooked chicken, shredded

1 cup fresh spinach, chopped

1 cup ricotta cheese

1 cup mozzarella cheese, shredded

¼ cup grated Parmesan cheese

1 egg, beaten

2 cloves garlic, minced

1 teaspoon Italian seasoning

Salt and pepper, to taste

2 cups marinara sauce

Fresh basil, for garnish (optional)

Instructions
 

Cook the Pasta Shells:

    Begin by boiling a large pot of salted water. Add the jumbo pasta shells and cook according to package instructions until al dente, about 8-10 minutes. Drain and rinse under cold water. Set aside.

      Prepare the Filling:

        In a large mixing bowl, combine the shredded chicken, chopped spinach, ricotta cheese, ¾ cup of mozzarella cheese, Parmesan cheese, beaten egg, minced garlic, Italian seasoning, salt, and pepper. Mix until well combined.

          Stuff the Shells:

            Preheat your oven to 375°F (190°C). Take each cooked pasta shell and fill it generously with the chicken and spinach mixture using a spoon or a piping bag for ease. Arrange the stuffed shells in a greased baking dish.

              Add the Sauce:

                Pour marinara sauce evenly over the stuffed shells, making sure to cover them lightly. Sprinkle the remaining ¼ cup of mozzarella cheese on top.

                  Bake:

                    Cover the baking dish with aluminum foil and bake in the preheated oven for 25 minutes. After 25 minutes, remove the foil and bake for an additional 10-15 minutes, or until the cheese is bubbly and golden.

                      Serve:
