Ingredients

2 large yellow onions

1 cup all-purpose flour

1 teaspoon garlic powder

1 teaspoon paprika

½ teaspoon cayenne pepper (optional, for heat)

2 large eggs

1 cup breadcrumbs (Panko for extra crunch)

½ teaspoon salt

½ teaspoon black pepper

Cooking spray or olive oil spray

Instructions

Prep the Onions: Peel the onions and slice them into ½-inch thick rings. Carefully separate the rings and set aside.

Make the Flour Mixture: In a shallow bowl, combine flour, garlic powder, paprika, cayenne pepper (if using), salt, and black pepper. Mix well.

Prep the Eggs: In another bowl, whisk the eggs until they are well beaten.

Breadcrumb Station: Place the breadcrumbs in a third shallow dish. For extra crunch, feel free to use Panko breadcrumbs.

          Coat the Onion Rings:

            - Take an onion ring and dip it into the flour mixture, ensuring it’s fully coated.

              - Shake off any excess flour.

                - Next, dip it into the whisked eggs, letting the excess drip off.

                  - Finally, coat it with breadcrumbs, pressing gently to adhere. Repeat this process until all onion rings are coated.

Preheat the Air Fryer: Preheat your air fryer to 375°F (190°C) for about 5 minutes.

Arrange in Air Fryer: Lightly spray the air fryer basket with cooking spray. Arrange the onion rings in a single layer, being careful not to overcrowd them. You may need to cook in batches.

Air Fry the Rings: Spray the tops of the onion rings with a light coating of cooking spray or olive oil. Air fry for 10-12 minutes, flipping halfway through, until golden brown and crispy.

Serve: Once cooked, remove the onion rings from the air fryer and allow them to cool slightly before serving. Enjoy with your favorite dipping sauce!
