14 oz (400g) firm tofu

2 tablespoons soy sauce

1 tablespoon sesame oil

1 tablespoon cornstarch

1 teaspoon garlic powder

1 teaspoon onion powder

1 teaspoon smoked paprika

1/2 teaspoon black pepper

Spray oil (coconut or olive oil) for cooking

Optional: sliced green onions and sesame seeds for garnish

Instructions
 

Prepare the Tofu: Start by pressing the tofu to remove excess moisture. Wrap the block of tofu in a clean kitchen towel or paper towels and place a heavy object on top (like a skillet) for about 15-20 minutes.

    Cube the Tofu: Once pressed, cut the tofu into bite-sized cubes, approximately 1-inch each.

      Marinate: In a bowl, whisk together the soy sauce, sesame oil, garlic powder, onion powder, smoked paprika, and black pepper. Add the tofu cubes to the marinade and gently toss to coat evenly. Allow it to marinate for at least 15 minutes (can marinate longer for deeper flavor).

        Coat the Tofu: After marinating, sprinkle cornstarch over the tofu and gently mix to ensure all pieces are coated in the cornstarch.

          Preheat the Air Fryer: Preheat your air fryer to 375°F (190°C) for about 5 minutes.

            Air Fry the Tofu: Lightly spray the air fryer basket with oil. Place the marinated tofu cubes in the basket in a single layer, ensuring they are not overcrowded (you may need to do this in batches). Spray the tops of the tofu with a little oil for extra crispiness.

              Cook: Air fry the tofu at 375°F (190°C) for 15-20 minutes, shaking the basket halfway through cooking to promote even crisping. The tofu should be golden brown and crispy.

                Serve: Once done, remove the tofu from the air fryer and let it cool for a minute. Serve it hot, garnished with sliced green onions and sesame seeds if desired. Enjoy as a snack or as part of a main dish!
