Ingredients

4 ripe bananas, sliced

1 can (15 oz) crushed pineapple, drained

1 jar (15 oz) maraschino cherries, drained and halved

1 cup chopped walnuts or pecans

1 box (15.25 oz) yellow cake mix

1 cup unsalted butter, melted (2 sticks)

1 cup cold milk

1 tsp vanilla extract

Chocolate syrup, for drizzling

Whipped cream, for serving (optional)

Additional sliced bananas and cherries, for garnish (optional)

Instructions

Preheat the Oven: Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C).

Prepare the Base: In a greased 9x13 inch baking dish, layer the sliced bananas evenly across the bottom.

Add Pineapple & Cherries: Spread the drained crushed pineapple over the bananas, then scatter the halved maraschino cherries and chopped nuts evenly atop the pineapple.

Sprinkle the Cake Mix: Evenly sprinkle the dry yellow cake mix over the fruit layers, covering them completely without mixing.

Mix Butter, Milk & Vanilla: In a mixing bowl, whisk together the melted butter, cold milk, and vanilla extract until well combined.

Pour Over Cake Mixture: Gently pour the butter-milk mixture evenly over the dry cake mix layer. Do not stir; the cake mix will absorb the liquid as it bakes.

Bake the Cake: Place the baking dish in the preheated oven and bake for 45-50 minutes or until the top is golden brown and the cake is bubbling.

Cool Slightly: Remove from the oven and let the cake cool for about 10-15 minutes.

Serve: Cut into squares and serve warm. Drizzle with chocolate syrup and top with whipped cream, if desired. For an extra touch, garnish with additional banana slices and cherries.
