Ingredients

20 large jumbo pasta shells

1 lb ground beef

1 cup ricotta cheese

1.5 cups shredded mozzarella cheese, divided

1/2 cup grated Parmesan cheese

1 egg, lightly beaten

2 cups marinara sauce (store-bought or homemade)

2 cloves garlic, minced

1 tsp Italian seasoning

Salt and pepper to taste

Fresh basil leaves for garnish (optional)

Instructions

Preheat the Oven: Preheat your oven to 375°F (190°C).

Cook the Pasta: Bring a large pot of salted water to a boil. Add the jumbo shells and cook according to the package instructions until al dente. Drain and rinse under cold water to prevent sticking. Set aside.

Prepare the Filling: In a large skillet over medium heat, add the ground beef and cook until browned, about 5-7 minutes. Drain excess fat if necessary. Add minced garlic, Italian seasoning, salt, and pepper. Cook for an additional 2 minutes until fragrant.

Mix the Cheese Filling: In a large bowl, combine the cooked ground beef, ricotta cheese, 1 cup of mozzarella cheese, Parmesan cheese, and the beaten egg. Mix well until fully combined.

Stuff the Shells: Carefully fill each cooked shell with a generous amount of the beef and cheese filling, using a spoon or your hands. Place each stuffed shell into a baking dish, opening side up.

Add Sauce and Cheese: Pour the marinara sauce evenly over the stuffed shells. Sprinkle the remaining 1/2 cup of mozzarella cheese on top.

Bake: Cover the baking dish with aluminum foil and bake in the preheated oven for 25 minutes. Remove the foil and bake for an additional 10-15 minutes, or until the cheese is bubbly and golden.

Garnish and Serve: Remove the stuffed shells from the oven and let them cool for a few minutes. Garnish with fresh basil leaves if desired. Serve warm.
