Ingredients

1 box of butter cake mix

1 cup of unsalted butter, melted

1 cup of chopped pecans, toasted

4 large eggs

1 cup of milk

1 teaspoon vanilla extract

1 cup of caramel sauce

1 cup of buttermilk

1 cup of powdered sugar

1 teaspoon of salt

Whipped cream for topping (optional)

Instructions

Preheat the Oven: Begin by preheating your oven to 350°F (175°C). Grease a 9x13 inch baking dish with non-stick spray or butter.

Mix Cake Batter: In a large mixing bowl, combine the butter cake mix, melted butter, chopped pecans, eggs, milk, and vanilla extract. Beat on medium speed for 2-3 minutes until the batter is smooth.

Bake the Cake: Pour the batter into the prepared baking dish and spread it evenly. Bake in the preheated oven for 30-35 minutes, or until a toothpick inserted in the center comes out clean.

Poke the Cake: Once the cake is baked, remove it from the oven and let it cool for about 10 minutes. Use a fork to poke holes all over the top of the cake, approximately 1 inch apart.

Prepare the Pecan Praline Topping: In a small saucepan over medium heat, combine the caramel sauce and buttermilk. Stir until the mixture is heated through and smooth. Remove from heat and add the powdered sugar and salt, mixing well until fully incorporated.

Pour the Topping: Slowly pour the praline mixture over the poked cake, making sure it seeps into the holes. Let the cake cool completely at room temperature.

Chill and Serve: Once the cake is cooled, you can refrigerate it for at least 1 hour to allow the flavors to meld. Before serving, top with whipped cream and a sprinkle of toasted pecans if desired.

Enjoy! Slice into squares and enjoy the decadent flavors of butter, pecans, and caramel in every bite.
