Ingredients

1 lb refrigerated pizza dough

8 oz cream cheese, softened

1 cup shredded sharp cheddar cheese

1 cup cooked, crumbled bacon (about 8 strips)

1/2 tsp garlic powder

1/2 tsp onion powder

1 egg, beaten (for egg wash)

1/4 cup baking soda (for boiling)

Flaky sea salt (for sprinkling)

Optional: Warm cheese sauce for dipping

Instructions

Preheat the Oven: Preheat your oven to 425°F (220°C) and line a baking sheet with parchment paper.

Make the Filling: In a mixing bowl, combine the softened cream cheese, shredded cheddar cheese, crumbled bacon, garlic powder, and onion powder. Mix until well combined and set aside.

Shape the Dough: On a lightly floured surface, roll out the pizza dough into a large rectangle, about 1/4 inch thick. Cut the dough into 3-inch squares.

Fill the Bombs: Place about 1 tablespoon of the cheese and bacon filling in the center of each square. Be careful not to overfill, as you need to seal the dough tightly.

Seal the Bombs: Fold each corner of the dough square toward the center to enclose the filling, pinching the edges securely to form a ball. Ensure there are no gaps.

Boil the Pretzel Bombs: Bring a large pot of water to a rolling boil. Stir in the baking soda until dissolved. Carefully drop a few pretzel bombs into the boiling water (don’t overcrowd the pot) and boil for about 30 seconds. Remove with a slotted spoon and place on the prepared baking sheet.

Apply Egg Wash: Brush the tops of the pretzel bombs with the beaten egg. Sprinkle with flaky sea salt for an extra touch.

Bake: Bake in the preheated oven for 12-15 minutes or until golden brown.

Cool and Serve: Let the pretzel bombs cool slightly before serving. Serve warm with a side of warm cheese sauce for dipping if desired.
