Ingredients

1 cup graham cracker crumbs

1/2 cup unsweetened cocoa powder

1/2 cup unsalted butter, melted

1/4 cup granulated sugar

1 can (14 oz) sweetened condensed milk

1 1/2 cups semi-sweet chocolate chips

1 cup maraschino cherries, drained and halved

1/2 cup chopped nuts (walnuts or pecans are great options)

1/2 teaspoon vanilla extract

A pinch of sea salt

Instructions

Preheat Oven: Begin by preheating your oven to 350°F (175°C). Grease a 9x13-inch baking pan or line it with parchment paper for easy removal.

Prepare the Crust: In a large mixing bowl, combine the graham cracker crumbs, cocoa powder, melted butter, and granulated sugar. Stir until the mixture forms a wet sand-like consistency. Press the mixture firmly into the bottom of the prepared baking pan to create an even crust.

Layer the Chocolate: Pour the sweetened condensed milk over the graham cracker crust, spreading it evenly to cover the surface.

Add Chocolate Chips and Cherries: Sprinkle the semi-sweet chocolate chips evenly over the condensed milk layer. Then, distribute the halved maraschino cherries over the chocolate chips, making sure they are spread out. Follow with the chopped nuts, and finish by sprinkling a pinch of sea salt over the top.

Bake: Place the pan in the preheated oven and bake for 25-30 minutes, or until the edges are golden and the center is set. The chocolate should be melted and bubbly.

Cool and Cut: Once baked, remove the pan from the oven and let it cool completely at room temperature. Once cooled, lift the bars out of the pan using the parchment paper (if used) and cut into squares or rectangles with a sharp knife.

Serve and Enjoy: For an extra touch, drizzle melted chocolate over the top before serving. These bars are perfect for any gathering or as a delicious treat for yourself!
