Ingredients

1 box chocolate cake mix (15.25 oz)

1 cup creamy peanut butter

1 cup milk

1/2 cup vegetable oil

3 large eggs

1 cup chocolate chips (semi-sweet or dark)

1 cup peanut butter chips

1 cup chopped peanuts (optional, for garnish)

1 cup whipped cream (for serving, optional)

Instructions

Preheat the Oven: Start by preheating your oven to 350°F (175°C). Grease a 9x13 inch baking dish with cooking spray or butter.

Mix the Wet Ingredients: In a large mixing bowl, combine the creamy peanut butter, milk, vegetable oil, and eggs. Whisk together until the mixture is smooth and well-combined.

Add the Cake Mix: Gradually add the chocolate cake mix to the wet ingredients. Stir until just combined; a few lumps are okay—do not overmix.

Layer the Chocolate and Peanut Butter: Pour half of the batter into the prepared baking dish, spreading it evenly. Sprinkle half of the chocolate chips and peanut butter chips over the batter.

Top with Remaining Batter: Carefully spoon the remaining batter over the chips. Use a spatula to gently spread it out without disturbing the chips too much.

Final Touch: Sprinkle the remaining chocolate and peanut butter chips evenly across the top. If you’re using chopped peanuts, sprinkle them on top as well for added crunch.

Bake: Place the baking dish in the preheated oven and bake for 35-40 minutes or until a toothpick inserted in the center comes out mostly clean with a few moist crumbs (the cake will continue to cook as it cools).

Cool: Remove the cake from the oven and let it cool for about 15 minutes. This allows the flavors to meld and makes it easier to serve.

Serve: Slice into squares and serve warm or at room temperature. Top each piece with a dollop of whipped cream if desired.
