1 ½ cups all-purpose flour

1 tsp baking powder

½ tsp baking soda

½ tsp salt

1 tsp ground cinnamon

½ tsp ground nutmeg

¼ cup unsalted butter, softened

½ cup brown sugar, packed

½ cup granulated sugar

2 large eggs

1 tsp vanilla extract

½ cup plain Greek yogurt

1 apple, peeled, cored, and finely chopped (about 1 cup)

½ cup chopped walnuts or pecans (optional)

2 tbsp sugar and 1 tsp cinnamon mixture for topping (optional)

Instructions
 

Preheat the Oven: Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C). Line a muffin tin with paper liners or grease with cooking spray.

    Mix Dry Ingredients: In a medium bowl, whisk together the flour, baking powder, baking soda, salt, cinnamon, and nutmeg. Set aside.

      Cream Butter and Sugars: In a large bowl, beat the softened butter with the brown sugar and granulated sugar until light and fluffy, about 3-4 minutes.

        Add Eggs and Vanilla: Beat in the eggs one at a time, mixing well after each addition. Stir in the vanilla extract.

          Incorporate Yogurt: Mix in the Greek yogurt until fully blended into the batter.
