Ingredients

6 large cinnamon rolls (store-bought or homemade), chopped into 1-inch pieces

4 large eggs

1 cup whole milk

1 cup heavy cream

3/4 cup granulated sugar

1 tablespoon vanilla extract

1 teaspoon ground cinnamon

1/4 teaspoon salt

1/2 cup raisins or chopped pecans (optional)

Icing from the cinnamon rolls

Instructions

Preheat the Oven: Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C). Grease a 9x13 inch baking dish with butter or cooking spray.

Prepare the Bread: Chop the cinnamon rolls into bite-sized pieces and place them evenly into the greased baking dish. If using raisins or chopped pecans, sprinkle them on top of the cinnamon rolls.

Make the Custard Mixture: In a large mixing bowl, whisk together the eggs, whole milk, heavy cream, granulated sugar, vanilla extract, ground cinnamon, and salt until smooth and fully combined.

Combine with Bread: Pour the custard mixture evenly over the cinnamon roll pieces in the baking dish. Gently press down the bread to help it soak up the custard. Let it rest for about 10-15 minutes to allow the bread to absorb the liquid.

Bake: Bake the pudding in the preheated oven for 30-35 minutes, or until the top is golden brown and a knife inserted into the center comes out clean. The pudding should be set but still soft.

Cool & Drizzle: Once out of the oven, let it cool for a few minutes. While it's still warm, drizzle the icing from the cinnamon rolls on top for added sweetness.

Serve: Scoop out portions and serve warm, either plain or with a scoop of vanilla ice cream for extra indulgence.
