Ingredients

2 cups all-purpose flour

1/2 cup powdered sugar

1 cup unsalted butter, softened

1/4 teaspoon salt

1 cup fresh or dried cranberries, chopped

1/2 cup granulated sugar

1 teaspoon vanilla extract

1/2 teaspoon almond extract

Zest of 1 orange

Optional: 1/2 cup white chocolate chips or nuts for topping

Instructions

Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C). Grease a 9x13 inch baking pan or line it with parchment paper for easy removal.

In a medium bowl, whisk together the flour, powdered sugar, and salt. Set aside.

In a large bowl, cream the softened butter until light and fluffy, about 2-3 minutes.

Gradually add the flour mixture to the butter, mixing until just combined.

Stir in the chopped cranberries, granulated sugar, vanilla extract, almond extract, and orange zest. Mix well until evenly distributed.

Spread the dough evenly in the prepared baking pan, pressing it down firmly into an even layer. If using, sprinkle white chocolate chips or nuts on top.

Bake in the preheated oven for 25-30 minutes or until the edges are lightly golden and the center is set.

Remove from the oven and allow the bars to cool in the pan for about 10 minutes. Then transfer to a wire rack to cool completely.

Once cooled, cut into squares or bars and serve. Enjoy!
