Ingredients

1 lb large shrimp, peeled and deveined

4 tablespoons unsalted butter

4 cloves garlic, minced

1 cup heavy cream

1/2 cup chicken broth

1/2 teaspoon paprika

1/4 teaspoon red pepper flakes (optional)

Salt and pepper, to taste

1/2 cup grated Parmesan cheese

2 tablespoons fresh parsley, chopped (for garnish)

Fresh lemon juice, to taste

Optional: Cooked pasta or rice, for serving

Instructions

Prepare the Shrimp: Pat the shrimp dry with paper towels and season with salt and pepper.

Sauté Garlic: In a large skillet over medium heat, melt 2 tablespoons of butter. Add minced garlic and sauté for about 1 minute, until fragrant. Be careful not to burn the garlic.

Cook the Shrimp: Add the shrimp to the skillet and cook for 2-3 minutes on each side, or until pink and opaque. Remove the shrimp from the skillet and set aside.

Make the Sauce: In the same skillet, add the remaining 2 tablespoons of butter. Once melted, pour in the chicken broth, heavy cream, paprika, and red pepper flakes (if using). Stir well and bring to a simmer.

Thicken the Sauce: Let the sauce simmer for 3-5 minutes, allowing it to thicken slightly. Stir in the grated Parmesan cheese and mix until fully melted and incorporated.

Combine: Return the shrimp to the skillet and gently toss to coat the shrimp in the creamy sauce. Cook for an additional 2 minutes to heat through. Adjust seasoning with salt, pepper, and a splash of fresh lemon juice to taste.

Serve: Garnish with chopped parsley and serve immediately over cooked pasta or rice, if desired. Enjoy your creamy garlic butter shrimp for a rich, satisfying meal!
