To create the perfect base for your Creamy Garlic Shrimp Pasta, start by cooking the fettuccine. Begin by bringing a large pot of water to a rolling boil. It's essential to salt the water generously; a good rule of thumb is to use about 1-2 tablespoons of kosher salt for every 4-6 quarts of water. Ingredients

8 oz fettuccine or linguine pasta

1 lb large shrimp (peeled and deveined)

4 cloves garlic (minced)

1 cup heavy cream

1 cup low-sodium chicken broth

1 cup grated Parmesan cheese

2 tablespoons olive oil

1 tablespoon butter

1 teaspoon red pepper flakes (optional)

Salt and pepper to taste

Fresh parsley (chopped, for garnish)

Instructions

Cook the Pasta: In a large pot of salted boiling water, cook the fettuccine according to package instructions until al dente. Drain and set aside, reserving ½ cup of pasta water.

Sauté the Shrimp: In a large skillet over medium heat, add the olive oil and butter. Once melted, add the shrimp and season with salt, pepper, and red pepper flakes (if using). Cook for 2-3 minutes on each side, until the shrimp are pink and opaque. Remove the shrimp from the skillet and set aside.

Prepare the Garlic Cream Sauce: In the same skillet, add the minced garlic and sauté for about 30 seconds until fragrant. Be careful not to burn it. Pour in the chicken broth and let it simmer for about 2 minutes.

Create the Creamy Mixture: Lower the heat and add the heavy cream to the skillet, stirring well. Gradually mix in the grated Parmesan cheese while stirring, allowing it to melt and create a smooth sauce. If the sauce seems too thick, add some reserved pasta water to achieve desired consistency.

Combine Pasta and Shrimp: Add the cooked pasta and sautéed shrimp back into the skillet. Toss everything together to coat the pasta and shrimp in the creamy garlic sauce. Allow it to heat through for about 2 minutes.

Serve: Plate the creamy garlic shrimp pasta, garnish with freshly chopped parsley, and additional grated Parmesan if desired. Enjoy!
