2 cups canned crushed tomatoes

1 cup heavy cream

1 cup fresh basil leaves, packed

1 garlic clove, minced

In a medium saucepan, combine the canned crushed tomatoes and minced garlic.

    Heat the mixture over medium heat, stirring occasionally, until it starts to simmer (about 5 minutes).

      Lower the heat and add the fresh basil leaves. Let them steep in the soup for about 2-3 minutes to release their flavor.

        Carefully blend the soup with an immersion blender until smooth. If you don’t have an immersion blender, you can blend it in batches using a regular blender, but be cautious with hot liquids.

          Once smooth, stir in the heavy cream and season with salt and pepper to taste. Heat gently until warmed through, about 2-3 minutes.
