Ingredients

  • 3.5 cups all-purpose flour
  • 2.25 teaspoons active dry yeast
  • 1.0 teaspoon sugar
  • 1.0 teaspoon salt
  • 1.0 cup warm milk
  • 0.25 cup unsalted butter
  • 2.0 cloves garlic, minced
  • 0.5 cup grated Parmesan cheese
  • 1.0 tablespoon fresh parsley, chopped
  • 1.0 teaspoon garlic powder
  • 0.5 teaspoon black pepper

Instructions

  • In a small bowl, combine warm milk and sugar. Sprinkle the yeast over the milk and let it sit for about 5-10 minutes until frothy.
  • In a large mixing bowl, combine the flour and salt. Create a well in the center and pour in the yeast mixture and melted butter. Mix until a dough begins to form.
  • Turn the dough onto a lightly floured surface and knead for about 8-10 minutes until the dough is smooth and elastic. If the dough is sticky, add a little more flour as needed.
  • Place the kneaded dough in a greased bowl, cover it with a clean kitchen towel or plastic wrap, and let it rise in a warm place for about 1 hour or until doubled in size.
  • In a small bowl, combine the minced garlic, garlic powder, black pepper, and the grated Parmesan cheese. Set aside.
  • Once the dough has risen, punch it down gently and turn it out onto a floured surface. Divide the dough into 12 equal pieces. Roll each piece into a ball and place them in a greased baking dish, ensuring they are close but not touching.
  • Cover the rolls with the kitchen towel and let them rise again for about 30 minutes, until they puff up.
  • While the rolls are rising, preheat the oven to 375°F (190°C).
  • Once the rolls have risen, brush them lightly with melted butter. Sprinkle the garlic Parmesan mixture evenly over the top of each roll.
  • Bake in the preheated oven for 20-25 minutes, or until the rolls are golden brown and cooked through.
  • Remove the rolls from the oven and immediately brush them with more melted butter. Sprinkle with chopped fresh parsley for a vibrant touch.
  • Allow the rolls to cool slightly before serving. Enjoy them warm as a delightful side to your favorite main dish!
