Ingredients

1 pound boneless, skinless chicken thighs, cut into bite-sized pieces

1 cup all-purpose flour

1 teaspoon garlic powder

1 teaspoon onion powder

1 teaspoon paprika

½ teaspoon salt

½ teaspoon black pepper

2 large eggs

1 cup panko breadcrumbs

Vegetable oil (for frying)

For the Honey Garlic Sauce:

½ cup honey

¼ cup soy sauce

3 cloves garlic, minced

1 tablespoon fresh ginger, minced (optional)

1 tablespoon rice vinegar

1 teaspoon sesame oil

1 teaspoon cornstarch (for thickening, optional)

1 tablespoon water (for cornstarch slurry, optional)

Instructions

Prepare the Chicken:

    - In a large bowl, combine the flour, garlic powder, onion powder, paprika, salt, and black pepper. Whisk together until well blended.

      Coat the Chicken:

        - In another bowl, beat the eggs.

          - Dip each chicken piece into the flour mixture, then into the egg, and finally coat with panko breadcrumbs. Make sure each piece is thoroughly coated and set aside on a plate.

            Heat the Oil:

              - In a large skillet, heat about 1 inch of vegetable oil over medium-high heat until it reaches 350°F (175°C). To check if it’s ready, drop a small piece of bread in; it should sizzle and turn golden brown.

                Fry the Chicken:

                  - Carefully add the coated chicken pieces in batches, ensuring not to overcrowd the skillet. Fry for 4-5 minutes until golden brown and crispy, turning occasionally. Use a slotted spoon to transfer them to a paper towel-lined plate to drain the excess oil.

                    Make the Honey Garlic Sauce:

                      - In a small saucepan over medium heat, combine the honey, soy sauce, minced garlic, ginger (if using), rice vinegar, and sesame oil. Stir until well mixed and bring to a simmer.

                        - If you prefer a thicker sauce, mix the cornstarch with the water to create a slurry. Gradually add it to the sauce, stirring continuously until it thickens (about 1-2 minutes). Remove from heat.

                          Toss the Chicken:

                            - In a large bowl, add the crispy chicken bites and drizzle the honey garlic sauce over them. Toss gently until all pieces are coated.

                              Serve:

                                - Serve the crispy honey garlic chicken bites warm, garnished with sesame seeds and chopped green onions if desired. Enjoy with your favorite dipping sauce or on their own!
