Ingredients

1 cup dill pickle slices (preferably sandwich slices)

1 cup finely crushed panko breadcrumbs

½ cup all-purpose flour

1 large egg

½ teaspoon garlic powder

½ teaspoon onion powder

½ teaspoon smoked paprika

¼ teaspoon black pepper

¼ teaspoon cayenne pepper (optional for a kick)

Cooking spray (for air frying)

Instructions

Prepare the Pickles: Pat the dill pickle slices dry with paper towels to remove excess moisture. This will help them become extra crispy when cooked.

    Set Up Breading Station:

      - In a shallow bowl, place the all-purpose flour.

        - In a second bowl, beat the egg until well combined.

          - In a third bowl, mix the panko breadcrumbs, garlic powder, onion powder, smoked paprika, black pepper, and cayenne pepper (if using).

            Bread the Pickles:

              - Dip each pickle slice first into the flour, ensuring it's fully coated. Shake off any excess flour.

                - Next, dip it into the beaten egg, allowing any excess to drip back into the bowl.

                  - Finally, coat the pickle slice with the panko mixture, pressing down gently to adhere the breadcrumbs well. Repeat this process for all the pickle slices.

Preheat the Air Fryer: Preheat your air fryer to 400°F (200°C) for about 5 minutes. This is key for achieving that perfect crunch!

                      Air Fry the Pickles:

                        - Lightly spray the air fryer basket with cooking spray to prevent sticking.

                          - Arrange the breaded pickle slices in a single layer in the basket, making sure they do not overlap. You may need to do this in batches.

                            - Spray the top of the pickle chips with cooking spray for extra crispiness.

Cooking Time: Cook for 8-10 minutes, flipping the chips halfway through, until they are golden brown and crispy. Keep a close eye on them to prevent burning.

Serve: Remove the pickle chips from the air fryer and let them cool for a minute. Serve hot with your favorite dipping sauce like ranch or a spicy aioli. Enjoy your crunchy delight!
