Ingredients

8 large dill pickles, drained and sliced into spears

1 cup all-purpose flour

2 large eggs

1 cup breadcrumbs (preferably panko for extra crunch)

1 teaspoon garlic powder

1 teaspoon onion powder

1 teaspoon smoked paprika

1/2 teaspoon cayenne pepper (optional for heat)

Salt and pepper to taste

Cooking spray or olive oil spray

Instructions

Prepare the Pickles: After slicing the pickles into spears, pat them dry with paper towels to remove excess moisture. This helps the breading stick better.

Set Up Breading Station: In three separate shallow bowls, set up your breading station.

      - In the first bowl, place the flour mixed with a pinch of salt and pepper.

        - In the second bowl, beat the eggs lightly.

          - In the third bowl, combine the breadcrumbs, garlic powder, onion powder, smoked paprika, cayenne pepper (if using), and a pinch of salt and pepper.

            Bread the Pickle Spears:

              - Dredge each pickle spear in the flour, ensuring it's fully coated, and shake off excess.

                - Dip the floured spears in the beaten eggs, allowing excess to drip off.

                  - Finally, coat each spear in the breadcrumb mixture, pressing gently to ensure it adheres well. Place the breaded spears on a plate.

Preheat Air Fryer: Preheat your air fryer to 400°F (200°C) for about 5 minutes.

Air Fry the Pickles: Lightly spray the air fryer basket with cooking spray. Arrange the breaded pickle spears in a single layer, making sure they are not overcrowded (you may need to do this in batches). Spray the tops of the spears lightly with olive oil spray.

Cooking Time: Air fry the pickle spears for 10-12 minutes, flipping them halfway through, until they are golden brown and crispy.

Serve: Once done, carefully remove the spears from the air fryer. Serve them hot with your choice of dipping sauces like ranch, sriracha mayo, or a zesty yogurt dip.
