Ingredients

1 package (8 oz) cream cheese, softened

1/4 cup granulated sugar

1/2 teaspoon vanilla extract

1 package (17.3 oz) frozen puff pastry (2 sheets), thawed

1 egg, beaten (for egg wash)

1/4 cup powdered sugar (for drizzling)

1 tablespoon milk (for drizzling)

Optional: fresh fruit (like blueberries or raspberries) for topping

Instructions

Preheat Oven: Preheat your oven to 400°F (200°C) and line a baking sheet with parchment paper.

Make Cheese Filling: In a mixing bowl, combine the softened cream cheese, granulated sugar, and vanilla extract. Mix until smooth and creamy. Set aside.

Prepare Puff Pastry: Roll out one sheet of thawed puff pastry on a lightly floured surface. Cut into squares (about 4x4 inches) with a sharp knife. Repeat with the second sheet of pastry.

Assemble Danishes: Place a tablespoon of the cream cheese mixture in the center of each pastry square. Fold the corners of the square towards the center, pressing them gently to seal. You can also leave the corners up for an open-faced Danish.

Apply Egg Wash: Brush the tops of the pastries with beaten egg for a golden finish.

Bake: Bake in the preheated oven for 15-20 minutes or until the pastries are puffed and golden brown.

Prepare Drizzle: While the Danishes are baking, mix the powdered sugar and milk together in a small bowl until smooth, creating a drizzle for the top.

Garnish and Serve: Once baked, let them cool slightly, then drizzle with the sugar mixture. Optionally, add fresh fruit on top or serve them as is.
