Ingredients

1 pound boneless, skinless chicken breasts

1 cup marinara sauce

1 ½ cups shredded mozzarella cheese

½ cup grated Parmesan cheese

1 teaspoon Italian seasoning

1 teaspoon garlic powder

Salt and pepper, to taste

12 slider buns (or small brioche rolls)

Fresh basil leaves (for garnish)

Olive oil, for greasing the baking dish

Instructions

Preheat the Oven: Preheat your oven to 375°F (190°C).

Prepare the Chicken: Season the chicken breasts with garlic powder, Italian seasoning, salt, and pepper. If desired, you can pound them to an even thickness for quicker cooking.

Cook the Chicken: In a skillet over medium-high heat, add a splash of olive oil. Cook the seasoned chicken for about 5-7 minutes on each side, until the chicken is cooked through and has a nice golden-brown color. (Alternatively, you can grill the chicken.)

Slice the Chicken: Once cooked, let the chicken rest for a few minutes, then slice it into thin strips.

Assemble the Sliders: In a greased baking dish, lay the bottom halves of the slider buns. Layer each bun with marinara sauce, then add sliced chicken, and top with mozzarella and Parmesan cheese. Spoon a little more marinara sauce over the cheese, and place the top halves of the buns on top.

Bake: Cover the baking dish with aluminum foil and bake for about 15 minutes. Remove the foil and bake for an additional 10 minutes, or until the cheese is bubbly and the tops of the buns are lightly toasted.

Garnish: Remove the sliders from the oven and let them cool for a couple of minutes. Garnish with fresh basil leaves before serving.

Serve: Cut the sliders apart and serve warm, with extra marinara sauce on the side for dipping.
