1 medium head of green cabbage, sliced into thin strips

4 slices of thick-cut bacon, chopped

1 large onion, sliced

3 cloves of garlic, minced

2 tablespoons olive oil

1 teaspoon smoked paprika

Salt and pepper to taste

1 tablespoon apple cider vinegar

Chopped fresh parsley for garnish (optional)

Cook the Bacon: In a large skillet over medium heat, add the chopped bacon. Cook until the bacon is crispy, about 6-8 minutes. Stir occasionally to ensure even cooking. Once done, remove the bacon pieces and set aside, leaving the rendered fat in the skillet.

    Sauté the Onion: In the same skillet, add the sliced onion to the bacon fat. Cook for about 5 minutes, stirring frequently, until the onion is soft and translucent.

      Add Garlic and Cabbage: Stir in the minced garlic and cook for an additional minute until fragrant. Then, add the sliced cabbage to the skillet. Toss everything together to coat the cabbage in the flavors of the bacon and onions.

        Season the Dish: Sprinkle the smoked paprika, salt, and pepper over the cabbage mixture. Continue cooking, stirring occasionally, for about 10-12 minutes, or until the cabbage is tender and slightly caramelized.
