Ingredients

4 ripe bananas

1 cup dark chocolate chips (or milk chocolate, if preferred)

2 tablespoons coconut oil

1/4 cup crushed nuts (walnuts, almonds, or peanuts)

1/4 cup shredded coconut (optional)

Sea salt (a pinch, optional)

Instructions

Prepare the Bananas: Peel the bananas and slice them into rounds about 1/2 inch thick. You should have around 32 banana slices.

Freeze the Banana Slices: Arrange the banana slices on a baking sheet lined with parchment paper in a single layer. Make sure they don’t touch each other. Freeze for about 1 hour or until solid.

Melt the Chocolate: In a microwave-safe bowl, combine the dark chocolate chips and coconut oil. Microwave on high in 30-second intervals, stirring in between, until smooth and fully melted. Be careful not to overheat!

Dip the Frozen Bananas: Remove the frozen banana slices from the freezer. Using a fork or toothpick, dip each banana slice into the melted chocolate, allowing any excess chocolate to drip off. Return the chocolate-covered bananas to the parchment-lined baking sheet.

Add Toppings: While the chocolate is still warm, sprinkle your chosen toppings (crushed nuts, shredded coconut, and a pinch of sea salt) over the chocolate-dipped bananas.

Final Freeze: Place the baking sheet back into the freezer for another 30 minutes to set the chocolate.

Serve & Enjoy: Once the chocolate has hardened, transfer the frozen banana bites to a container. They can be enjoyed right away or stored in the freezer for a quick and delightful treat.
