Ingredients

4 medium-sized apples (Granny Smith or Honeycrisp, peeled and sliced)

2 tablespoons lemon juice

2 teaspoons cinnamon

1/2 cup brown sugar (packed)

2 cups vanilla yogurt (Greek or regular)

1 cup granola (your choice, preferably with oats and nuts)

1/4 cup chopped pecans (optional)

1 teaspoon vanilla extract

Whipped cream (for serving, optional)

Instructions

Prepare the Apples: In a large bowl, combine the sliced apples with lemon juice, cinnamon, and brown sugar. Toss well to ensure the apples are coated in the mixture. Set aside for about 10-15 minutes to allow the flavors to meld.

Create the Yogurt Mixture: In another bowl, mix the vanilla yogurt and vanilla extract together until well combined. You can add a little bit of sweetener, such as honey or maple syrup, if you like it sweeter.

Layer the Mixture: Take a baking dish (about 8x8 inches), and spread a thin layer of the yogurt mixture at the bottom. Then layer half of the prepared apples evenly on top of the yogurt.

Add Crunch: Sprinkle half of the granola and chopped pecans (if using) over the apples to add texture.

Continue Layering: Repeat the layering process with the remaining yogurt mixture, followed by the rest of the apples, and finish with the remaining granola and pecans.

Freeze: Cover the baking dish with plastic wrap and place it in the freezer for at least 4 hours, or until frozen solid.

Slice and Serve: Once completely frozen, let the dessert sit at room temperature for about 10 minutes before slicing it into squares or wedges. This will make it easier to cut through.

Garnish (Optional): Serve with a dollop of whipped cream on top if desired, and enjoy your delightful Frozen Yogurt Apple Pie Crunch Slices!
