Ingredients

2 lbs chicken wings

4 cloves garlic, minced

1/4 cup honey

1/4 cup soy sauce (preferably low sodium)

2 tablespoons rice vinegar (or apple cider vinegar)

1 tablespoon sesame oil

1 teaspoon ground ginger (or fresh grated)

1 teaspoon red pepper flakes (optional, for heat)

2 green onions, chopped (for garnish)

Sesame seeds (for garnish)

Instructions

Prepare the Marinade: In a large bowl, combine the minced garlic, honey, soy sauce, rice vinegar, sesame oil, ground ginger, and red pepper flakes (if using). Whisk well until the mixture is smooth and uniformly combined.

Marinate the Wings: Add the chicken wings to the bowl with the marinade. Toss until each wing is well coated. Cover the bowl with plastic wrap and refrigerate for at least 1 hour, or up to overnight for more flavor.

Preheat the Oven: Preheat your oven to 400°F (200°C). Line a baking sheet with aluminum foil and place a wire rack on top (this allows the wings to cook evenly).

Prepare the Wings for Baking: Remove the chicken wings from the marinade and let any excess marinade drip off. Arrange the wings in a single layer on the prepared wire rack for crispy results.

Bake the Wings: Bake the wings in the preheated oven for 30-35 minutes, flipping them halfway through. Keep an eye on them towards the end – you want a beautiful caramelization and a crispy exterior.

Glaze the Wings (Optional): If you want to intensify the flavor, you can quickly toss the baked wings in the leftover marinade. Put them back in the oven for an additional 5-7 minutes until sticky and caramelized.

Garnish and Serve: Once they are done baking, remove the wings from the oven and let them rest for a few minutes. Garnish with chopped green onions and sprinkle sesame seeds on top before serving.

Enjoy: Serve the Garlic Honey Soy Wings warm with your favorite dipping sauce (like ranch or blue cheese) and enjoy your delicious creation!
