Ingredients

For the Turkey Meatballs:

1 lb ground turkey

1/2 cup breadcrumbs (preferably whole wheat)

1/4 cup grated Parmesan cheese

1/4 cup chopped fresh parsley

2 cloves garlic, minced

1 large egg

1 tsp dried oregano

1 tsp ground cumin

1/2 tsp salt

1/4 tsp black pepper

2 tbsp olive oil (for cooking)

For the Tzatziki Sauce:

1 cup Greek yogurt

1 small cucumber, grated and excess water squeezed out

1 clove garlic, minced

1 tbsp fresh lemon juice

1 tbsp chopped fresh dill (or mint, if preferred)

Salt and pepper to taste

Instructions

Prepare the Tzatziki Sauce: In a bowl, combine the Greek yogurt, grated cucumber, minced garlic, lemon juice, and dill. Mix well and season with salt and pepper. Refrigerate for at least 30 minutes to allow flavors to meld.

Make the Meatball Mixture: In a large mixing bowl, combine the ground turkey, breadcrumbs, Parmesan cheese, parsley, minced garlic, egg, oregano, cumin, salt, and pepper. Mix until thoroughly combined, but be careful not to overmix, as this can make the meatballs tough.

Shape the Meatballs: With your hands, form the mixture into balls about 1.5 inches in diameter. You should be able to make 20-24 meatballs, depending on the size.

Cook the Meatballs: In a large skillet, heat the olive oil over medium heat. Once hot, add the meatballs in batches, being careful not to overcrowd the pan. Cook for about 6-8 minutes, turning occasionally, until the meatballs are browned on all sides and cooked through (internal temperature should reach 165°F).

Serve: Arrange the cooked meatballs on a serving platter and drizzle with additional olive oil if desired. Serve warm with a generous dollop of tzatziki on the side. These meatballs pair wonderfully with pita bread, a fresh Greek salad, or wrapped in lettuce for a lighter option.
