Ingredients

1 lb pizza dough (store-bought)

1 cup cooked ham, diced

1 cup shredded mozzarella cheese

1/2 cup shredded cheddar cheese

4 large eggs

1/2 cup milk

1 tsp garlic powder

1 tsp onion powder

1/2 tsp black pepper

1/4 tsp salt

1 tbsp olive oil

1 tbsp chopped fresh chives (optional)

1 egg (for egg wash)

Flour (for dusting)

Instructions

Preheat the Oven: Preheat your oven to 425°F (220°C). Line a baking sheet with parchment paper.

Prepare the Dough: On a lightly floured surface, roll out the pizza dough into a large circle (about 12 inches in diameter). Cut the circle in half to create two semi-circles.

Make the Filling: In a mixing bowl, whisk together the eggs, milk, garlic powder, onion powder, black pepper, and salt until well combined. Stir in the diced ham, mozzarella, cheddar, and chives, if using.

Assemble the Calzones: Spoon half of the filling mixture onto one half of each dough semi-circle, leaving a border around the edge. Fold the other half of the dough over the filling to create a pocket. Press the edges firmly to seal, then crimp with a fork to ensure it's securely closed.

Prepare for Baking: Place the calzones on the prepared baking sheet. In a small bowl, beat the remaining egg and brush the mixture over the tops of the calzones for a golden finish.

Bake: Bake the calzones in the preheated oven for 15-20 minutes, or until they are golden brown and puffed up.

Cool and Serve: Allow the calzones to cool for a few minutes before slicing in half. Serve warm, optionally with a side of marinara sauce for dipping.
