Ingredients

2 cups all-purpose flour

1 tablespoon baking powder

1 tablespoon sugar

1 teaspoon salt

1 teaspoon garlic powder

1 cup shredded cheddar cheese

1 cup diced cooked ham

1 cup buttermilk

1/2 cup unsalted butter (1 stick), melted

Fresh chives or parsley for garnish (optional)

Instructions

Preheat the Oven: Preheat your oven to 425°F (220°C) and grease a 9x13-inch baking dish.

Combine Dry Ingredients: In a large mixing bowl, whisk together the flour, baking powder, sugar, salt, and garlic powder until well combined.

Mix in Cheese and Ham: Gently fold in the shredded cheddar cheese and diced ham using a spatula or wooden spoon, ensuring they are evenly distributed throughout the dry mixture.

Add Wet Ingredients: Pour in the buttermilk and stir until just combined. The batter will be thick and slightly lumpy; do not overmix.

Prepare the Baking Dish: Pour the melted butter into the bottom of the greased baking dish, making sure it covers the bottom evenly.

Spoon in the Biscuit Batter: Drop spoonfuls of the biscuit batter directly into the melted butter in the baking dish. Space them out evenly, as they will expand while baking.

Bake the Biscuits: Place the dish in the preheated oven and bake for about 25-30 minutes or until the tops are golden brown and the biscuits are cooked through.

Serve: Once they are out of the oven, let them cool for a few minutes, then garnish with freshly chopped chives or parsley if desired. Serve warm and enjoy!
