Ingredients

1 lb ground beef

1 cup diced mushrooms (cremini or button)

1 medium onion, chopped

2 cloves garlic, minced

1 cup shredded cheddar cheese

1 cup sour cream

1 tablespoon Worcestershire sauce

1 teaspoon dried thyme

1 teaspoon paprika

Salt and pepper to taste

1 cup crushed Ritz crackers

2 tablespoons melted butter

Fresh parsley, chopped (for garnish)

Instructions

Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C).

In a large skillet over medium heat, add the ground beef. Cook until browned, breaking it apart with a spoon. Drain excess fat.

Add the diced onion, mushrooms, and minced garlic to the skillet. Sauté until vegetables are tender, about 5-7 minutes.

Stir in the Worcestershire sauce, thyme, paprika, salt, and pepper. Mix thoroughly and remove from heat.

In a separate bowl, combine the sour cream and half of the shredded cheddar cheese. Add this mixture to the beef and mushroom mix, stirring until well combined.

Transfer the mixture into a greased 9x13 inch baking dish, spreading it out evenly.

In a small bowl, combine crushed Ritz crackers with melted butter. Stir until the crackers are well coated.

Sprinkle the buttery cracker mixture evenly over the beef and mushroom layer.

Top with the remaining cheddar cheese.

Bake in the preheated oven for 25-30 minutes, or until the top is golden brown and bubbly.

Once baked, remove from the oven and let it cool for a few minutes. Garnish with fresh parsley before serving.
