Ingredients

1 cup unsalted butter (2 sticks)

1 ½ cups granulated sugar

1 cup packed brown sugar

4 large eggs

1 teaspoon vanilla extract

1 ½ cups all-purpose flour

1 cup unsweetened cocoa powder

½ teaspoon baking powder

½ teaspoon salt

1 cup semi-sweet chocolate chips

1 cup hot fudge sauce (store-bought or homemade)

Optional: Fresh berries or whipped cream for serving

Instructions

Preheat the Oven: Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C). Grease and flour a 9x5 inch loaf pan, or line it with parchment paper for easy removal.

Melt the Butter: In a medium saucepan, melt the unsalted butter over low heat. Once melted, remove from heat and let it cool slightly.

Mix Sugars and Eggs: In a large mixing bowl, combine the granulated sugar, brown sugar, and melted butter. Mix well with a whisk until smooth. Add the eggs one at a time, mixing well after each addition. Stir in the vanilla extract.

Combine Dry Ingredients: In another bowl, whisk together the all-purpose flour, cocoa powder, baking powder, and salt until thoroughly combined.

Combine Wet and Dry Ingredients: Gradually add the dry ingredients to the wet mixture, stirring until just combined. Do not overmix; it’s okay if there are a few lumps.

Add Chocolate Chips: Fold in the semi-sweet chocolate chips to the batter, ensuring they are evenly dispersed.

Prepare Fudge Swirl: Pour half of the brownie batter into the prepared loaf pan, then drizzle half of the hot fudge sauce over it. Using a knife or toothpick, gently swirl the fudge into the batter. Pour the remaining brownie batter on top, followed by the rest of the hot fudge sauce, swirling again to create a marbled effect.

Bake: Place the loaf pan in the preheated oven and bake for 40-50 minutes, or until a toothpick inserted into the center comes out with a few moist crumbs. Be careful not to overbake, as you want it to remain gooey in the middle.

Cool and Serve: Once baked, remove the brownie bread from the oven and let it cool in the pan for 10 minutes. Then, turn it out onto a wire rack to cool completely. For serving, slice the brownie bread and serve warm with a drizzle of extra hot fudge sauce and a dollop of whipped cream or fresh berries, if desired.
