Ingredients

4 salmon fillets (6 oz each)

1/4 cup pure maple syrup

2 tablespoons soy sauce (low sodium recommended)

1 tablespoon Dijon mustard

1 tablespoon apple cider vinegar

1 teaspoon smoked paprika

2 cloves garlic, minced

Salt and pepper to taste

2 tablespoons olive oil

Fresh chives or parsley, chopped (for garnish)

Lemon wedges (for serving)

Instructions

Prepare the Marinade: In a mixing bowl, combine the maple syrup, soy sauce, Dijon mustard, apple cider vinegar, smoked paprika, and minced garlic. Whisk until well incorporated. Adjust salt and pepper to taste.

Marinate the Salmon: Place the salmon fillets in a shallow dish or a zip-lock bag. Pour the marinade over the salmon, ensuring each fillet is well-coated. Seal the dish or bag and refrigerate for 30 minutes to 1 hour.

Preheat the Oven: Preheat your oven to 400°F (200°C). If using a grill, preheat it to medium-high heat.

Prepare for Cooking: Remove the salmon fillets from the marinade, letting the excess liquid drip off (reserve the remaining marinade). In a large oven-safe skillet, heat the olive oil over medium-high heat.

Sear the Salmon: Place the fillets skin-side down in the hot skillet. Cook for about 4-5 minutes, or until the salmon is golden brown and crispy. Carefully flip the fillets and sear the other side for an additional 2-3 minutes.

Glaze the Salmon: Pour the reserved marinade over the seared salmon fillets. Transfer the skillet to the preheated oven (or if grilling, move to an indirect heat area) and bake for about 10-12 minutes, or until the salmon is cooked through and flakes easily with a fork.

Serve: Once cooked, remove the salmon from the oven, drizzle with extra sauce if desired, and garnish with fresh chives or parsley. Serve with lemon wedges on the side for an added zing.

Enjoy: Pair your maple glazed salmon with roasted vegetables or a fresh salad for a delightful meal!
