Ingredients

12 chicken drumsticks

1/2 cup pure maple syrup

1/4 cup Dijon mustard

2 tablespoons soy sauce

1 tablespoon apple cider vinegar

2 cloves garlic, minced

1 teaspoon smoked paprika

1/2 teaspoon black pepper

1/2 teaspoon salt

1 tablespoon olive oil

Fresh thyme or parsley for garnish (optional)

Instructions

Marinate the Chicken: In a large mixing bowl, combine the maple syrup, Dijon mustard, soy sauce, apple cider vinegar, minced garlic, smoked paprika, black pepper, and salt. Whisk until well blended. Add the chicken drumsticks to the marinade, ensuring they are well coated. Cover and refrigerate for at least 1 hour, preferably overnight for maximum flavor.

Preheat the Oven: Preheat your oven to 400°F (200°C). Line a baking sheet with aluminum foil and place a wire rack on top for even cooking.

Prepare the Drumsticks: Remove the drumsticks from the marinade, allowing excess marinade to drip off, and place them on the prepared wire rack. Drizzle olive oil over the drumsticks for a crispy exterior.

Bake: Bake in the preheated oven for 25-30 minutes, flipping halfway through. Baste with the reserved marinade in the last 10 minutes of cooking to enhance the glaze.

Broil for Finish: For extra caramelization, switch the oven to the broil setting and broil the drumsticks for an additional 3-5 minutes, keeping a close eye to prevent burning.

Serve: Remove from the oven and let rest for a few minutes. Garnish with fresh thyme or parsley if desired. Serve warm and enjoy the deliciously sticky, sweet, and tangy glaze!
