Ingredients

1 bag (20 oz) frozen hash browns, thawed

1 cup shredded cheddar cheese (plus more for topping)

1/2 cup grated Parmesan cheese

1/4 cup green onions, finely chopped

1/2 teaspoon garlic powder

1/2 teaspoon onion powder

Salt and black pepper, to taste

1 large egg, beaten

1 lb ground beef or turkey (or a plant-based alternative)

1 tablespoon Worcestershire sauce

1 teaspoon smoked paprika

Slider buns (12 small potato or sesame seed buns)

Optional toppings: lettuce, tomato, pickles, ketchup, or your favorite sauce

Instructions

Preheat the Oven: Preheat your oven to 400°F (200°C).

Prepare Hash Brown Mixture: In a large mixing bowl, combine the thawed hash browns, cheddar cheese, Parmesan cheese, green onions, garlic powder, onion powder, salt, black pepper, and beaten egg. Mix well until all ingredients are evenly combined.

Form Patties: Lightly grease a baking sheet. Scoop about 2 tablespoons of the hash brown mixture and form small patties, placing them on the sheet. You should have around 12 patties.

Bake Hash Brown Patties: Bake the patties in the preheated oven for 25-30 minutes, flipping halfway through, until they are golden brown and crispy on both sides.

Cook the Meat: While the hash browns are baking, heat a skillet over medium heat. In the skillet, add the ground beef or turkey, breaking it apart with a spatula. Cook until browned, about 8-10 minutes. Drain excess fat if necessary and sprinkle in the Worcestershire sauce, smoked paprika, salt, and pepper. Stir to combine and let it cook for an additional 2 minutes, then remove from heat.

Assemble Sliders: Once the hash brown patties are ready, remove them from the oven. Place a hash brown patty on the bottom half of each slider bun, top with the cooked meat mixture, and sprinkle additional cheddar cheese on top. Cover with the top half of the slider bun.

Melt the Cheese: Place the assembled sliders back in the oven for 5 minutes, just until the cheese melts and the buns are slightly toasted.

Serve: Remove from the oven, assemble any additional toppings you like, and serve the sliders warm!
