4 whole wheat pita breads

1 cup cooked chicken breast, shredded or diced

1/2 cup basil pesto (store-bought or homemade)

1 cup cherry tomatoes, halved

1 cup mozzarella cheese, shredded

1/4 teaspoon red pepper flakes (optional)

Salt and pepper to taste

Fresh basil for garnish

Olive oil for drizzling

Preheat the Oven: Preheat your oven to 400°F (200°C).

    Prepare Pitas: Place the whole wheat pita breads on a baking sheet lined with parchment paper.

      Spread the Pesto: Evenly spread approximately 2 tablespoons of basil pesto on each pita, covering the surface well.

        Add Chicken: Top each pesto-covered pita with shredded or diced cooked chicken, ensuring an even distribution.

          Layer the Tomatoes: Scatter the halved cherry tomatoes over the chicken, and sprinkle some salt and pepper to taste.

            Cheese it Up: Generously sprinkle shredded mozzarella cheese over the toppings, ensuring to cover the pitas well. If desired, add a pinch of red pepper flakes for a hint of spice.
