Marinating chicken in buttermilk is a game changer when it comes to achieving tender, flavorful meat. Buttermilk is slightly acidic, which helps to break down the proteins in the chicken, resulting in a juicier, more succulent bite. The richness of buttermilk also infuses the chicken with flavor, ensuring that each piece is seasoned throughout. This marination process not only enhances the chicken’s texture but also allows it to retain moisture during cooking, leading to perfectly crispy and juicy sliders. Allow your chicken to marinate for at least 1 hour, or, for best results, overnight in the refrigerator.

Instructions

Marinate the Chicken:

    - Place the chicken tenders in a bowl and cover them with buttermilk. Let marinate for at least 30 minutes, or up to 2 hours in the refrigerator.

      Prepare the Breading Station:

        - In one bowl, mix the flour, garlic powder, onion powder, paprika, salt, and pepper. In another bowl, place the panko bread crumbs.

          Bread the Chicken:

            - Remove the marinated chicken from the buttermilk, letting excess drip off. Dredge each tender in the flour mixture, then dip back into the buttermilk, and finally coat with panko bread crumbs, pressing the crumbs to adhere well.

              Fry the Chicken:

                - Heat about 1/2 inch of vegetable oil in a large skillet over medium-high heat. Once hot, add the breaded chicken tenders in batches, frying until golden brown and cooked through, about 3-4 minutes per side. Transfer to a paper towel-lined plate to drain excess oil.

                  Make the Caesar Dressing:

                    - In a small bowl, whisk together mayonnaise, lemon juice, minced garlic, grated Parmesan, Worcestershire sauce, salt, and pepper until smooth and well combined.

                      Assemble the Sliders:

                        - Slice the mini slider buns in half. On the bottom half of each bun, layer a handful of chopped romaine lettuce. Place a crispy chicken tender on top, drizzle with Caesar dressing, and sprinkle extra Parmesan cheese.

                          Finish the Sliders:

                            - Place the top half of the sliders on and serve immediately with extra dressing on the side for dipping.
