Ingredients

1 pound large shrimp, peeled and deveined

2 tablespoons Cajun seasoning

1 tablespoon olive oil

1 tablespoon butter

4 cloves garlic, minced

1 medium onion, chopped

1 bell pepper (red or green), diced

1 teaspoon smoked paprika

½ teaspoon cayenne pepper (adjust to taste)

1 teaspoon thyme (dried or fresh)

Juice of 1 lemon

Salt and pepper to taste

Fresh parsley, chopped (for garnish)

Instructions

Marinate the Shrimp: In a bowl, toss the peeled and deveined shrimp with the Cajun seasoning, ensuring they are well coated. Let them marinate for at least 15 minutes to absorb the flavors.

Sauté Vegetables: In a large skillet, heat olive oil and butter over medium heat. Add the chopped onion and bell pepper, sautéing for about 3-4 minutes until tender.

Add Garlic: Stir in the minced garlic, smoked paprika, cayenne pepper, thyme, and a pinch of salt and pepper. Sauté for another minute, allowing the garlic to become fragrant but not browned.

Cook Shrimp: Increase the heat to medium-high and add the marinated shrimp to the skillet. Cook for about 2-3 minutes on each side until they turn pink and opaque.

Finish with Lemon: Once the shrimp are cooked, squeeze the juice of one lemon over the top and give it a good toss to mix all the flavors. Taste and adjust seasoning if necessary.

Serve: Remove from heat, garnish with chopped parsley, and serve immediately. This dish pairs wonderfully with rice, crusty bread, or a fresh salad.
