Ingredients

2 pounds chicken wings

1 teaspoon salt

1 teaspoon black pepper

1 teaspoon garlic powder

1 teaspoon onion powder

1 teaspoon smoked paprika

1/2 teaspoon cayenne pepper (optional, for heat)

1 cup BBQ sauce (your favorite brand)

1 tablespoon olive oil

1 tablespoon apple cider vinegar

Fresh parsley, finely chopped (for garnish)

Instructions

Preheat the Oven: Preheat your oven to 425°F (220°C). Line a baking sheet with aluminum foil and place a wire rack on top.

Prepare the Chicken Wings: In a large bowl, pat the chicken wings dry with paper towels. This ensures crispy skin.

Season: In a small bowl, combine salt, pepper, garlic powder, onion powder, smoked paprika, and cayenne pepper. Sprinkle this seasoning mix evenly over the chicken wings, making sure to coat them well.

Toss and Arrange: Drizzle olive oil and apple cider vinegar over the seasoned wings. Toss until well-coated. Lay the wings in a single layer on the wire rack, ensuring they are not touching, to promote even cooking.

Bake the Wings: Bake in the preheated oven for 40-45 minutes, turning the wings halfway through the cooking time for an even crisp. The wings should be golden brown and crispy when done.

Sauce Up: In a separate bowl, combine the BBQ sauce with a little bit of water (about 2 tablespoons) to thin it out slightly. Once the wings are done, remove them from the oven and toss them in the BBQ sauce mixture until well-coated.

Final Bake: Return the sauced wings to the oven and bake for an additional 10-15 minutes, allowing the sauce to caramelize and adhere nicely to the wings.

Serve: Remove the wings from the oven and let them cool for a few minutes. Garnish with freshly chopped parsley before serving alongside celery sticks and extra BBQ sauce if desired.
