Ingredients

1 lb (500g) ground beef

1/2 lb (250g) ground pork

1 cup fresh breadcrumbs

1/4 cup grated Parmesan cheese

1/4 cup fresh parsley, chopped

2 cloves garlic, minced

1 large egg

1 tsp salt

1/2 tsp black pepper

1 tsp dried oregano

1 tsp dried basil

1/2 tsp red pepper flakes (optional)

2 cups marinara sauce (for baking)

Olive oil spray

Instructions

Preheat the Oven: Preheat your oven to 400°F (200°C). Line a baking sheet with parchment paper and lightly spray with olive oil.

Mix the Ingredients: In a large mixing bowl, combine the ground beef, ground pork, breadcrumbs, Parmesan cheese, parsley, minced garlic, egg, salt, pepper, oregano, basil, and red pepper flakes. Use your hands to mix until well combined, but be careful not to overmix.

Shape the Meatballs: Using your hands, form the mixture into meatballs about 1.5 inches in diameter. Place each meatball on the prepared baking sheet, spacing them about 1 inch apart.

Bake the Meatballs: Bake in the preheated oven for 20 minutes, or until they are browned and cooked through.

Add the Marinara Sauce: Remove the baking sheet from the oven, and carefully pour the marinara sauce over the meatballs, ensuring they are fully covered. Return the baking sheet to the oven and continue baking for an additional 10 minutes.

Serve: Once done, let the meatballs cool for a few minutes before serving. These meatballs are delicious on their own, served over pasta, or in a sub sandwich with melted cheese!
