1 (32 oz) bag of frozen tater tots

1 lb ground Italian sausage (or beef)

1 cup pepperoni slices

2 cups shredded mozzarella cheese

1 cup pizza sauce (store-bought or homemade)

1/2 cup diced bell peppers (red or green)

1/2 cup sliced black olives (optional)

1/4 cup grated Parmesan cheese

1 teaspoon Italian seasoning

Salt and pepper to taste

Fresh basil leaves for garnish (optional)

Preheat the oven: Start by preheating your oven to 425°F (220°C).

    Cook the meat: In a large skillet over medium heat, cook the ground Italian sausage until browned and thoroughly cooked. Drain any excess grease and season with salt, pepper, and Italian seasoning. Remove from heat.

      Layer the base: In a greased 9x13 inch baking dish, spread an even layer of half the frozen tater tots on the bottom.

        Add meat and toppings: Evenly distribute the cooked sausage over the tater tots. Next, spread 1 cup of pizza sauce over the sausage. Layer half of the pepperoni slices, diced bell peppers, and black olives (if using) on top.

          Add more tater tots: Place the remaining tater tots on top, covering all the toppings thoroughly.

            Cheesy goodness: Sprinkle the remaining mozzarella cheese over the tater tots, followed by the rest of the pepperoni and a generous sprinkling of grated Parmesan cheese.
