8 oz fettuccine pasta

1 lb large shrimp, peeled and deveined

4 tbsp unsalted butter

4 cloves garlic, minced

1 cup heavy cream

1/2 cup grated Parmesan cheese

1 tsp red pepper flakes (optional)

Salt and pepper, to taste

Fresh parsley, chopped (for garnish)

Zest of 1 lemon

Cook the Pasta: In a large pot of salted boiling water, cook fettuccine according to package instructions until al dente. Drain and set aside, reserving 1/2 cup of pasta water.

    Sauté the Shrimp: In a large skillet over medium heat, melt 2 tablespoons of butter. Add the minced garlic and sauté for about 1 minute until fragrant. Then, add the shrimp and cook for 2-3 minutes until they turn pink and opaque. Season with salt, pepper, and red pepper flakes if using. Remove the shrimp from the skillet and set aside.
