Ingredients

4 cups water

1 cup raspberries (fresh or frozen)

4 black tea bags (or 4 tablespoons loose leaf black tea)

1/2 cup sugar (adjust to taste)

1 tablespoon lemon juice (freshly squeezed)

Ice cubes

Fresh mint leaves (for garnish)

Additional raspberries and lemon slices (for garnish)

Instructions

Make the Raspberry Syrup: In a small saucepan, combine the raspberries and 1 cup of water. Heat over medium heat and mash the raspberries with a fork or spoon. Add the sugar and stir until dissolved. Let it simmer for about 5 minutes. Remove from heat and strain the mixture through a fine mesh sieve into a bowl to discard the seeds. Set aside to cool.

Brew the Tea: In a large saucepan, bring 3 cups of water to a boil. Once boiling, remove from heat and add the tea bags or loose tea. Let it steep for about 5-7 minutes, depending on how strong you like your tea. Remove the tea bags or strain out the loose tea leaves.

Combine: In a large pitcher, combine the brewed tea, the raspberry syrup, and the lemon juice. Stir well to mix all the flavors together. Taste and adjust sweetness with more sugar or syrup if desired.

Chill the Tea: Allow the tea to come to room temperature, then refrigerate for at least 2 hours or until chilled.

Serve: Fill glasses with ice cubes and pour the chilled raspberry iced tea over the ice. Garnish each glass with fresh mint leaves, a few whole raspberries, and a lemon slice.

Enjoy: Sip and savor the refreshing taste of your homemade raspberry iced tea!
