Ingredients

12 fresh figs, halved

1 tablespoon olive oil

Salt and freshly cracked black pepper, to taste

1 baguette, sliced into 1/2 inch pieces

8 oz goat cheese, softened

2 tablespoons honey

Fresh thyme leaves, for garnish

Balsamic glaze, for drizzling (optional)

Instructions

Preheat the Oven: Preheat your oven to 375°F (190°C).

Roast the Figs: Place the halved figs on a baking sheet and drizzle with olive oil. Sprinkle with salt and pepper. Roast the figs in the preheated oven for about 15 minutes, or until they are tender and beginning to caramelize.

Prepare the Crostini: While the figs are roasting, arrange the baguette slices on a separate baking sheet. Brush each slice lightly with olive oil on both sides. Bake in the oven for about 5-7 minutes, or until golden and crispy. Remove when done and let cool slightly.

Mix the Goat Cheese: In a small bowl, combine the softened goat cheese and honey, mixing until thoroughly combined and creamy.

Assemble the Crostini: Spread a generous layer of the goat cheese mixture over each toasted baguette slice. Top each one with a roasted fig.

Garnish: Sprinkle fresh thyme leaves over the crostini for a burst of color and added flavor.

Serve: Drizzle with balsamic glaze if desired, and serve immediately on a platter.

Enjoy this elegant appetizer at your next gathering!
