Ingredients

1 lb (450g) thinly sliced beef (flank steak or sirloin)

3 cups broccoli florets

2 tablespoons vegetable oil (divided)

4 cloves garlic, minced

1 inch ginger, grated

2 tablespoons soy sauce (low-sodium)

1 tablespoon oyster sauce

1 tablespoon cornstarch

1 tablespoon water

1 teaspoon sesame oil

1/4 teaspoon black pepper

Cooked rice or noodles for serving

Optional: sesame seeds and sliced green onions for garnish

Instructions

Preparation: In a small bowl, mix the soy sauce, oyster sauce, cornstarch, water, and black pepper to create the sauce. Set aside.

Stir-Fry the Beef: Heat 1 tablespoon of vegetable oil in a large skillet or wok over medium-high heat. Add the sliced beef in a single layer and stir-fry for about 2-3 minutes until browned and just cooked through. Remove the beef from the pan and set it aside.

Cook the Broccoli: In the same pan, add the remaining 1 tablespoon of vegetable oil. Add the broccoli florets and stir-fry for about 2 minutes until they brighten in color and are tender-crisp.

Flavor with Aromatics: Add the minced garlic and grated ginger to the pan with the broccoli. Stir-fry for another 30 seconds until fragrant.

Combine and Sauce It Up: Return the cooked beef to the pan and pour the sauce over the beef and broccoli. Stir well to coat everything evenly, cooking for an additional 1-2 minutes until the sauce thickens slightly and everything is heated through.

Finish and Serve: Drizzle the sesame oil over the stir-fry and give it a final toss. Serve immediately over cooked rice or noodles. Garnish with sesame seeds and sliced green onions if desired.
