Ingredients

8 chicken drumsticks

1/2 cup pure maple syrup

1/4 cup Dijon mustard

2 tablespoons olive oil

3 cloves garlic, minced

1 teaspoon fresh rosemary, chopped (or 1/2 teaspoon dried rosemary)

1 teaspoon smoked paprika

1/2 teaspoon salt

1/4 teaspoon black pepper

1 tablespoon apple cider vinegar

Fresh parsley, chopped (for garnish)

Instructions

Preheat the Oven: Preheat your oven to 400°F (200°C).

Prepare the Marinade: In a mixing bowl, whisk together the maple syrup, Dijon mustard, olive oil, minced garlic, rosemary, smoked paprika, salt, black pepper, and apple cider vinegar until well combined.

Marinate the Chicken: Place the chicken drumsticks in a large resealable plastic bag or a shallow dish. Pour the marinade over the drumsticks, ensuring they are well coated. Seal the bag (or cover the dish) and marinate in the refrigerator for at least 1 hour, or ideally overnight for maximum flavor.

Arrange on a Baking Sheet: Line a baking sheet with parchment paper or aluminum foil for easier cleanup. Remove the drumsticks from the marinade (reserve the marinade) and place them on the prepared baking sheet, spacing them out evenly.

Bake the Drumsticks: Bake in the preheated oven for 25 minutes. After 25 minutes, baste the drumsticks with the reserved marinade and continue baking for another 15-20 minutes, or until they are golden brown and cooked through (the internal temperature should reach 165°F/75°C).

Caramelize the Sauce: If desired, for a stickier finish, switch the oven to broil for the last 3-5 minutes of cooking, watching carefully to avoid burning. The sugar in the marinade helps caramelize the surface, creating a delicious glaze.

Serve: Once cooked, remove the drumsticks from the oven and let them rest for a few minutes. Garnish with freshly chopped parsley before serving.

Enjoy: Pair these sticky drumsticks with your favorite sides, such as roasted vegetables or a fresh salad, and enjoy the perfect balance of sweet and tangy flavors!
