Ingredients

1 lb ground beef (or ground turkey for a lighter version)

1/2 cup breadcrumbs (preferably panko)

1/4 cup grated parmesan cheese

1/4 cup fresh parsley, chopped

1 large egg

3 cloves garlic, minced

1 teaspoon onion powder

1/2 teaspoon salt

1/2 teaspoon black pepper

1/4 teaspoon red pepper flakes (optional for extra heat)

1/3 cup honey

1/3 cup Sriracha sauce

1 tablespoon soy sauce

1 tablespoon rice vinegar

1 teaspoon sesame oil

Instructions

Preheat the Oven: Preheat your oven to 400°F (200°C) and line a baking sheet with parchment paper for easy cleanup.

Mix Meatball Ingredients: In a large mixing bowl, combine the ground beef, breadcrumbs, parmesan cheese, parsley, egg, minced garlic, onion powder, salt, pepper, and red pepper flakes (if using). Mix until evenly integrated, but be careful not to over-mix as this can make the meatballs tough.

Form Meatballs: Wet your hands slightly and shape the mixture into meatballs, about 1 inch in diameter. Place each meatball onto the prepared baking sheet, spacing them evenly apart.

Bake Meatballs: Bake the meatballs in the preheated oven for 15-20 minutes, or until they are cooked through and browned on the outside. An internal temperature of 160°F (71°C) is recommended for ground beef.

Prepare Sauce: While the meatballs are baking, mix together the honey, Sriracha sauce, soy sauce, rice vinegar, and sesame oil in a small saucepan. Heat on medium until hot, but do not let it boil. Stir frequently to combine.

Coat Meatballs: Once the meatballs are done, remove them from the oven and place them into a large mixing bowl. Pour the honey Sriracha sauce over the meatballs and toss gently until they are evenly coated.

Serve: You can serve these meatballs warm as an appetizer with toothpicks, or over rice or noodles as a heartier main dish. Garnish with additional parsley or sesame seeds if desired.
