Ingredients

2 cans of refrigerated crescent roll dough

8 oz cream cheese, softened

1/2 cup granulated sugar

1/2 teaspoon vanilla extract

1/2 cup sour cream

2 large eggs

1 teaspoon lemon juice (optional, for a hint of freshness)

1/4 teaspoon salt

1/4 cup powdered sugar (for dusting)

Fresh berries (strawberries, blueberries, raspberries) for topping (optional)

Instructions

Preheat your oven: Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C). Grease a 9x13-inch baking dish with cooking spray or butter.

Prepare the crescent rolls: Unroll one can of the crescent roll dough and lay it flat across the bottom of the greased baking dish, pressing the seams together to create a cohesive layer.

Make the cheesecake filling: In a large mixing bowl, combine the softened cream cheese, granulated sugar, vanilla extract, and sour cream. Mix well until smooth. Add the eggs, lemon juice (if using), and salt. Beat until everything is well incorporated and creamy.

Spread the filling: Pour the cheesecake filling over the crescent roll layer in the dish, spreading it evenly with a spatula.

Top it off: Unroll the second can of crescent roll dough and layer it over the cheesecake filling, pressing the seams together just like the first layer. You can create a crisscross pattern or simply lay it flat.

Bake it: Place the casserole in the preheated oven and bake for 25-30 minutes, or until the top is golden brown and the filling is set. Keep an eye on it towards the end to prevent over-browning.

Cool and dust: Once baked, remove from the oven and let it cool for about 10-15 minutes. Dust the top with powdered sugar and allow it to set further before slicing.

Serve: Cut into squares and serve warm or at room temperature. Top with fresh berries if desired for an extra pop of flavor and color.
