Ingredients

1 pound ground beef (80/20)

1 teaspoon garlic powder

1 teaspoon Italian seasoning

1/2 teaspoon onion powder

Salt and pepper, to taste

4 slices mozzarella cheese

1 cup marinara sauce (store-bought or homemade)

4 hamburger buns

1/2 cup sliced pepperoni

1/4 cup grated Parmesan cheese

Fresh basil leaves, for garnish (optional)

Olive oil, for brushing

Instructions

Preheat the Grill: Begin by preheating your grill or stovetop grill pan over medium-high heat. Lightly brush the grates with olive oil to prevent sticking.

Prepare the Beef: In a large mixing bowl, combine the ground beef, garlic powder, Italian seasoning, onion powder, salt, and pepper. Mix until just combined; be careful not to overwork the meat.

Form Patties: Divide the meat mixture into four equal portions and shape them into burger patties, making a slight indentation in the center of each to ensure even cooking.

Grill the Patties: Place the patties on the grill and cook for about 3-4 minutes on one side. Flip the burgers and cook for an additional 3 minutes.

Add Cheese and Pepperoni: During the last minute of cooking, place a slice of mozzarella cheese on each patty, followed by a layer of pepperoni. Close the grill lid to melt the cheese.

Toast the Buns: While the cheese is melting, place the hamburger buns cut side down on the grill for 1-2 minutes until they're lightly toasted.

Assemble the Burgers: Remove the patties from the grill. On each bottom bun, spoon a generous amount of marinara sauce. Place the cheesy, pepperoni-laden burger on top, then add more marinara, and sprinkle with grated Parmesan cheese.

Garnish and Serve: Top with fresh basil leaves, if desired. Close the burgers with the top buns and serve immediately with your favorite sides.
