Ingredients

1 ripe mango, diced

1 ripe avocado, diced

1 small red onion, finely chopped

1 jalapeño pepper, seeded and minced

1/4 cup fresh cilantro, chopped

Juice of 1 lime

Zest of 1 lime

Salt and pepper to taste

Optional: 1/2 bell pepper (red or yellow), diced for added crunch

Instructions

Prepare the Ingredients: Start by washing all your fresh produce. Dice the mango and avocado into small cubes, keeping them similar in size for a balanced texture. Finely chop the red onion and jalapeño, and chop the cilantro.

Combine: In a large mixing bowl, combine the diced mango, avocado, red onion, minced jalapeño, and cilantro. If using, add the diced bell pepper to the mixture for extra crunch.

Dress the Salsa: Squeeze the juice of one lime over the mixture and add the lime zest. Stir gently to combine, being careful not to mash the avocado.

Season: Sprinkle with salt and pepper to taste. Mix again lightly. Allow the salsa to sit for about 10 minutes to let the flavors meld together.

Serve: Transfer to a serving bowl. Enjoy immediately with tortilla chips, on tacos, or as a topping for grilled chicken or fish.

Storage: If you have leftovers, store them in an airtight container in the refrigerator. It’s best consumed within 1-2 days for optimal freshness.
